PARTICIPANTS: Bill Li, David Richards, Garth Huber, Patrick Barry, Petr Stepanov, Rachel Montgomery, Richard Trotta, Rolf Ent, Stephen Kay, Tobias Frederico, Tanja Horn

PLANNING DETECTORS 2ND IR (Bill, Yulia, Dmitry)

  • ZDC in IR2 on outer side (on inner side in IR6)
  • IP8 released on June 7th. Fully implemented in g4e, EIC-root, and Fun4all
  • rear detectors no optimization efforts yet - not aligned properly
  • Configuration looks good. 275 GeV beam steers well - need to demonstrate that also for lower beam energies
  • ZDC 50 GeV pi0 @IP6 (IP8)
  • Fun4All specific issues
  • ZDC 2m long - interferes with ionBXD magnet - need to investigate impact of moving ZDC forward etc.
  • Virtual detectors in 2nd IR
  • implemented in IP8 beamline (yellow planes)
  • Main Actions
  • Beam profile at the secondary focus
  • Investigate lower beam energies - scale magnets for lower energies
  • Additional actions shown in slides

GLOBAL FITTING (Patrick)

  • Good progress with global fitting including lattice points to examine JLab data - get better constraints
  • DY+LN+lattice studies
  • Valence distributions: most impact at intermediate x - lattice doesn't have much impact at low x (~0.15) and high x (~0.95)
  • main interest in impact on current-current data
  • NLO, still could look at threshold resummation - lattice probably not as sensitive as data since coefficients in matching regions are well behaved

MESON SF and FF PROJECTIONS (Richard, Stephen)

MESON SF

  • Optimized binning setup
  • Corrected a bug in t-distribution
  • Investigating a cut at t~0.1 GeV that should not be there
  • Setting up Fun4All simulation campaign
  • Encountered some errors with output files as input to EICSmear
  • Limit on set is ~5000-10000 events - more detail on how to run in ECCE simulations/computing meeting

MESON FF

  • Event weighting: EICSmear and Fun4All cannot deal with weights associated to events - need that for rate projections
  • Exclusive generator (DEMPGen) ready, counter for event rejection statistics, produced several beam energy combinations
  • Kaon Generator
  • modifying pion generator
  • next: phase space, detector optimizations (resolution, positioning)
  • Action
  • run kaon/lambda with both IP6 and IP8 - expect results to be different

THEORY (Tobias)

  • Finalized a paper on pion form factor
  • Ongoing effort: Working on PDFs with Minkowski space formalism
  • one gluon exchange - might expect similar behaviour as lattice

NEXT MEETING: MONDAY 28 JUNE AT 4:00 PM ET
