PARTICIPANTS: Amy Comer, Bogdan Wojtsekhowski, Brannon Semp, David Hamilton, Erik Wrightson, Hamlet Mkrtchyan, Hovanes Egiyan, Joshua Crafts, Rolf Ent, Steven Lassiter, Tanja Horn,

ENGINEERING/DESIGN (Steven)

  • Discussion with potential vendor NEC/Tokin - new conductor choices to address water flow and pressure drop of a continous wound coil
  • Prototype drawings in progress, design work on CPS/shielding platform and hall layout
  • 86 W2 blocks on site (90%W,10%Ni,3%Fe), expect >440 blocks
  • Action item: magnetic properties of the material since close to superconducting magnet
  • thermal modeling
  • Block sizes: initial rough numbers 3"x4"x10" 2.8"x4"x6" - need to double check
  • Timeline for magnet procurement
  • finalize calculations
  • backup option: New Zealand company - but cannot do high radiation
  • Action item: need to finalize exit channel
  • block stacking
  • need to restart MC simulation
  • Magnet design - final: a few months away
  • need conductor coil design - touch up yoke - thermal calculations

THERMAL MODELING (Amy)

  • Discussion about model status and application licensing

SLIDES FOR HALL C MEETING (Gabriel)

  • Global overview of physics program, design, and progress on each topic
  • Contact Bert Metzger for plots
  • David H. can send slides on polarized WACS

TCS UPDATES (Vardan)

  • Ongoing simulations work - expect results at one of the next meetings
