DISCUSSION ABOUT LOCATION OF CPS

• Based on Hall C decision downstream

POWER DEPOSITION (Bogdan)

• Investigating temperature-stress and ways to reduce warping

• Gain factor of ten with Wire cut - with EDM - standard technique also for collimators

• Still factor 6 too high, but there are other techniques one can use to distribute heat and reduce stress

• Extend surface area to distribute heat

• Separate top (cold) - bottom (hot)

TCS UPDATES (Vardan)

• Clustering reduces background

• Increasing energy threshold reduces rate to level ~100kHz

• Actions/Questions:

• can one select events of certain energy from cluster?
• Are the background rates reached now sufficiently low
• How low can one dial the time window? - currently use 50ns, fADC has 4ns resolution --> can one go to 10ns?
