8/30/22: EEEMCAL Physics Meeting Summary (8/30/22)
Physics topics and plots
- Inclusive longitudinal diffractive SF (FL)
- Nuclear PDFs
- Yellow Report Fig. 7.68: shows projections for relative uncertainties but it isn’t clear that a Rosenbluth separation is being considered.
- On p. 157 Section 7.3.3 Nuclear PDFs: discusses not only the subject in the title but also F_L in eqn (7.37). It states that
- "The large Q2 lever arm of the EIC will allow us to precisely extract FL and further determine the nuclear gluon PDF. Longitudinal and charm structure functions provide direct access to the magnitude of nuclear effects on the gluon distribution.”
