DISCUSSION ABOUT LOCATION OF CPS
- Based on Hall C decision downstream
POWER DEPOSITION (Bogdan)
- Investigating temperature-stress and ways to reduce warping
- Gain factor of ten with Wire cut - with EDM - standard technique also for collimators
- Still factor 6 too high, but there are other techniques one can use to distribute heat and reduce stress
- Extend surface area to distribute heat
- Separate top (cold) - bottom (hot)
TCS UPDATES (Vardan)
- Clustering reduces background
- Increasing energy threshold reduces rate to level ~100kHz
- Actions/Questions:
- can one select events of certain energy from cluster?
- Are the background rates reached now sufficiently low
- How low can one dial the time window? - currently use 50ns, fADC has 4ns resolution --> can one go to 10ns?
