GROUNDING OF NPS (Fernando)
- Agreed on overall scheme in 15 October special meeting (summary: https://wiki.jlab.org/cuawiki/index.php/Special_Meeting_Grounding_Scheme_Summary_9/22/21)
- Detector chassis isolated from any detector structure
- Chassis connected to electronics ground and thick cable that connects to clean ground in hall
- CAD drawing in progress
HV DIVIDER (Fernando)
- Optimized design PCB nearly complete
- Testing the full dynamic range of optimized divider design suggests that need to increase gain
- also requires higher bandwidth - may need to change chip
- Communication with Orsay team on grounding connectors
- CAD drawing with connector position provided - can be considered final
- Recall two options presented by Orsay team:
- fixed wire
- connector
LOW VOLTAGE (Carlos)
- PCB designed and quotes
- expect end of year/early January
- low voltage cables - can be purchased with connector from samtek or flat cable + modify and add connector
- Action: request quote (Fernando) - Orsay needs to provide cable lengths
- Timelines:
- Low voltage cables should be done by beginning January
- Expect HV Dividers to be in hand end of the year to beginning January
DSG UPDATES (Aaron)
- Thermal simulations
- Ambient air temperature determines crystal temperature
- expected load is 0.5W
- very stable at lower heat loads - for 0.5W per crystal
- keeping at 18degC seems a good choice
- Ambient experimental hall temperature typically 20-21 degC
- plan to investigate adding cooling flow and also add wrapping material and investigate additional ambient temperatures
- NPS will have air flow to prevent condensation, but this will be dry air,
- Reflector shaping - made 110 so far, 16% done
- ODU has 500 foils - expects to deliver the first 100 pre-shaped foils in first week of November
MECHANICAL (Paulo)
- much progress with design and procurement of components
- cabling strategy for roof block finalized - present design focus is on sections near beamline, which will determine remaining cabling strategy
ASSEMBLY PREPARATION DISCUSSION
- Need dates when people on site
- first thoughts - end of January/beginning February sounds possible
- vaccination mandatory to travel to US from November 8th - negative Covid test also still needed
- Electronics - good progress with electronics components
- LV PS received and stored
- Expectation: installation NPS in spring/summer 2023, first NPS run in fall 2023
- Start thinking about next collaboration meeting
NEXT MEETING: THURSDAY 2 DECEMBER 2021 AT 9AM ET
