Science Exhibition
Capitol Hill Exhibition: April 25, 2018
Location: Dirksen Senate Office Building, Washington D.C.
The Senate Energy & Natural Resources Committee has invited SSURF to hold a User Science Exhibition in the Dirksen Senate Office Building, Room 366. Like previous user science expos organized by the National User Facility Organization (NUFO) and DOE’s National Lab Day events, the SSURF expo will seek to raise awareness in Congress of the U.S. user facility network and its many contributions to U.S. scientific leadership, economic competitiveness, and national security. In conjunction with this event, SSURF will also organize user visits to congressional offices.
This year's expo, with a theme of Science as Infrastructure, will demonstrate that user facilities—like roads, energy systems, airports, and other critical infrastructure systems—constitute a network that fosters U.S. prosperity, enabling innovation at the heart of U.S. economic competitiveness, scientific leadership, and national security. The expo will showcase a diverse set of research projects and capabilities contributed by SSURF's member facilities and is open for all to attend.
