Responsibilities

In coordination with JLabRadCon Group and the KLF/GlueX Collabration, design of the m3BDX secondary muon beam line at the Hall-D CPS facility. Muons produced in the CPS will be deflected down with a dipole followed by a shileding to range out the most part of the background (neutral and charged particles). A magnetic spectrometer placed downstream of the shielding will act as analyzer defining the position, the time and the momentum of incoming muons. After the interaction with a target placed in the middle of the magnet, position, time and momentum of scattered muons will be measured.

  • M. Battaglieri will supervise the m3BDX facility design,
  • M. Bondi' will be rensponsible of on-site operations,
  • A. Fulci will take care of FLUKA simulations,
  • G. Gosta, T. Nagorna, and M. Spreafico will be responsible for GEANT simulations (detector and beamline),
  • S. Grazzi will be responsible for the detector tests.

Physics Interests

Muon-phillic Light Dark Matter detection via a muon missing momentum experiment.

Disclosure of Other Research Activities

The whole group is committed to the BDX (beam dump experiment) and nuBDX experiment (CEvNS experiment), as well as other activities in Hall-B (CLAS12).
