JLab Hall D staff includes:

  • 13 Staff scientists
  • 2 Postdoctoral fellows
  • Tech group: 1 engineer, 1 designer, and 5 technicians

Personnel from other groups is also involved if required: Target Group, Electronics Group.

  • Target Group will be responsible for building the liquid Hydrogen target (details need elaboration)
  • Electronics Group: 2 technicians provide support during runs

For the KLF experiment the Hall D staff will provide:

  • New beamline equipment in the Tagger Hall and Collimator Cave: completion of the design, fabrication, and installation. Re-configuration of the areas. Installation of the new beam pipes in Hall D. Providing space for KFM and assisting with its installation.
  • Installation and operation of the standard Hall D equipment, including
    • Detectors: CDC and FDC, BCAL and FCAL, TOF, and ST
    • Magnets
    • Slow control
    • Other beamline and hall environment
    • LH target routine operation
  • Trigger system: it depends on the physics requirements (needs elaboration)
  • Online:
    • Data collection and storage
    • Tools for online data monitoring (monitoring of data will be performed by the collaboration)
  • Offline:
    • Providing help with calibration of the detectors FDC, BCAL, FCAL and TOF. The procedures for KLF may be different from those for GlueX and need elaboration. Routine calibration of every run will be a responsibility of the collaboration.
    • Providing software coordination. Providing new software will be a responsibility of the collaboration.
    • Mass data production: running all raw data through reconstruction and producing REST files
  • Providing in-person shift takers and Run Coordinators on equal grounds with other collaborators
