* Eugene told us that due to the budget constraints the upcoming GlueX fall run will start not earlier that October 2024, likely in November 2024. This will also mean that GlueX-II will not complete its data taking in the spring of 2025, therefore GlueX-II will most likely take data in the fall of 2025.

  • Eugene told us that due to the budget constraints the upcoming GlueX fall run will start not earlier that October 2024, likely in November 2024. This will also mean that GlueX-II will not complete its data taking in the spring of 2025, therefore GlueX-II will most likely take data in the fall of 2025.

  • Hovanes presented his slides describing the purpose of the series of the meeting and the general status of the beamline components that are expected to be discussed during these meetings.
Eugene commented that Hall-D will be replacing the SiPMs of the start counter. This will not happen before GlueX fall run. Beni will be working on the selection of the new SiPMs. Fernando will help withe the design of the electronics.

  • Tim reported on the status of CPS engineering design. There is an overall layout, still working with Pavel on the shielding. This is going to be an iterative process between engineering model updates and FLUKA modifications.
  • The CPS magnet design is in a well advanced stage. Magnet group reviewed Josh's model and OK-ed it. The plan is to submit a purchase request for the CPS magnet in FY2024.
  • CPS magnet power supply PR has been approved in January.
  • We received 40 US tons of lead from SLAC. Tim is working on PR to have the bricks painted. If the current amount of the lead in the latest FLUKA CPS model holds, we will not need to have mode lead for CPS. But we most likely need to buy lead fot KPT.
  • Keith Harding, the designer working with Tim on KPT and CPS, is getting a new position and most likely will not work on KLF. Tim will be looking for a replacement designer.

  • Tim thinks that KPT engineering design will be complete in a couple of months.

  • Tim reported on his trip to Juelich. He showed a lot of photos in his slides. According to Tim, FWC and FVH scintillator detectors can be mechanically integrated easily. But the FPC tracker support will need to be modified. Also there is another detector that Mikhail would like to bring to JLAB, FRI, that will need to have modified support. FRI channel count has not been taken into account previously.
  • Mikhail said that he identified shipping boxes for all the detectors, except for the veto counters.
  • It was not clear if we can use cables from COSY for KLF scintillator detectors, their safety ratings were not clear according to Fernando. Mikhail and Eugene roughly estimated that we would need $20K for signals cables if we cannot use cables from COSY. Tim will look further into this.

  • Next meeting will be held in two weeks.
