Software/Computing

- Already exist an “ifarm” at JLab to use with gpu’s called qcdgpu (used by the LQCD group). If you need/want an account to use in PWA, you need to send an email to Sandy Philpott (CC Mark Ito or Dennis Weygand depending on your Hall).

We will schedule a talk/presentation in the future to learn about the use of gpu’s at JLab, for now we need first to install the software that use that hardware: IU-PWA and ROOTPWA-GPU for example. Some general discussion followed to find where we can most benefit for gpu’s in the PWA process.

We would like to setup a FORUM on PWA to have group-one, one-one discussions on specific problems during the PWA. Dianne sent me this e-mail just after the meeting:

Hi Carlos, For the JLab-PWA group, I think it would be best to use phpBB for the forum. It is a common software solution to build a forum, and there is a lot of templates and support available. …. https://www.phpbb.com/ -- Diane

What do you think? (PLEASE SEND ME YOUR THOUGHTS)

We plan to set simulations to start leakage studies in CLAS12 and HallD. The Hall D and CLAS12 reconstruction (resolution simulation) are in quite good shape to do this work. Some discussion on the manpower needed followed (and we are of course short!)

Baryon contamination studies will need input from theory that we will be seeking soon.

Please check in the Wiki page:

for links to three theses in PWA (g12 and COMPASS) that were recently written. Congratulation to the new PhDs!!

We plan to make more general advertisement of our group (wiki, list, forum and meetings) to include in the net all Jlab users interested in PWA to exchange information.
