Get started with replays - Everyone
- Review the git usage overview. Getting_Started - Git
- Follow instructions on the starting out section of data analysis to get hallc_replay_XEM on your group disk location Data_Analysis - Starting_Out
- Learn about standard.kinematics, standard.database and some hcana related things in starting out. Data Analysis - Starting Out | Standard dot what?
- Run your first replay and make sure the files were created. Some detailed instructions exist for getting a replayed root file in Data Analysis - Starting Out | Running a SCRIPT
- Follow the hierarchy section in Getting Started - Git
- Submit a pull request of a simple commit to show you are setup with git.
Standard.kinemtaics Tasks
- Enter missing runs. Run all replays with 1K events to see check if the run exists in the standard.kinemtics files.
- Enter missing gtargmass_amu for some runs (autoDB script wasn't updated when target ladder moved)
- Remove duplicate entries from autoDB script
- Remove unnecessary information about HMS in SHMS standard.kinematics and unnecessary information abut SHMS in HMS standard.kinemtaics
- hpartmass in SHMS, ppartmass in HMS, hpcentral in SHMS, ppcentral in HMS, htheta_lab in SHMS and ptheta_lab in HMS, etc.
- Potentially consolidate separate runs into run ranges? Potential for mistakes here.
- Online beam energy was pulled from hallc:p. The beam may have been off when this was read in leading to the wrong beam energy. What should we use for the beam energy?
Check angle pictures in CODA files
Casey is pinning the files to cache and will run get_coda_photos on the cdaq computers. SHMS and HMS angle photos will be placed in a TAR file for storage.
- In some cases, the camera gave out. List runs for which no camera angle is available.
- Check each photo run-by-run. It will be easy to see if the angle changed at all.
- Note down each run the angle changed on and the precise angle down to the actual precision.
- Make sure standard.kinematics has the EXACT angle.
Verify magnet settings
- Nadia may have a script from 6GeV running.
- Check the magnet settings were correct relative to go_magnets_SHMS_current and go_magnets_HMS_current. If the magnet should have gone to MOL, make sure it was sent to MOL.
- Check if the NMR was locked?
- Check the difference between NMR lock and readback was within +/-5E-5. This was not the case for some early HMS / SFQ runs.
Check runlists
- Parse back some of the files in AUX_FILES and check they are all correct.
- Determine specific runs in each kinematic we will do calibrations with. Should we do calibrations with some events from multiple files?
- These lists should be made before pass1, so it is quick and easy to do calibrations consistently.
- Make sure all the information required is in the runlists.
- Should there be separate lists for specific physics? EMC@20 degrees (ladder 1 and 2). Pion contamination study, CSB study, 2N SRCs, 3N SRCs, etc.
Small Replay Update(s)
- Small replay update
- Add/verify that momenta and angles used in the analysis are written to report files (including any offsets)
- Add pointing offsets used in hcana to report files (they're hard-wired!)
- Add more stuff to epics tree (helium target temperatures and pressures)
- Verify correct BPM calibration in replay (Dave G)
- Use high-momentum HMS matrix element files where appropriate (there are least 2 - Jacob might have more by now)
- Check fast raster calibrations have right sign
