AIOP - Polarized Photon Source
Agenda:
- Previous Meeting
- Announcements
- Project Progress
- Task assignments (FTE Profiles)
- PIER Activities
- Middle School Data Science Hackathon Workshop
- HUGS mini-Workshop
- AOT
Minutes
- There is still an issue with access to the GitHub project
- Hovanes showed some slides outlining what he saw as the best option of applying AI to save beam time and optimize polaization.
- Noted the beam itself may be moving which changes the angle wrt to the diamond
- Well understood formula exists to connect angle to peak edge (see Ken's paper)
- Suggested strategy looks at time development of values from Mya to make more accurate prediction of angle
- Known formula used to calculate setting higher accuracy based on desired coherent edge
- Prediction by AI is the key innovation since prompt feedback is not always accurate
- Beam positions at 5C11B and active collimater are most relevant.
- Torri, Patrick, and Jiawei were going to meet separately to discuss data harvesting and preparation.
Action Items
- Fix (if possible) Github project permissions (David)
- Meet to discuss data organization and assignments
