  • We brainstormed a list of parameters that could be potentially related to the CDC gain setting
    • Pressure
    • Temperature (CDC, BCAL chiller, Hall, ... ?)
    • Electronics currents (HV and LV)
      • Not sure what is in EPICS and what is archived. Thomas will ask Hovanes
    • PS coincidence rate
    • Beam current
    • Radiator, convertor
  • We discussed time scales and the study Naomi did to derive the 2hr time limit for runs
    • Driven by maximum ambient pressure gradients and CDC gas pressure gradient
  • CLAS12
    • Noticed similar pressure dependance in their drift chambers
    • Suggested looking at recalibration points in their CCDB and correlating them with hall conditions in time prior using EPIC archives (possibly data from previous runs?)
  • Funding + labor
    • The minimum amount funded will be $300k. This means we will need to ask for two postdocs
    • First postdoc will work primarily on GlueX CDC
    • Second postdoc will work primarily on CLAS12
    • Work will be correlated in attempt to generalize problem as much as possible
  • Writing assignments
    • David Richards is working on 1-2 pages of very broad program scope that includes Theory
    • Naomi will write section summarizing Drift chamber problem in general and then specifics on CDC
    • David L. will work on section describing other potential Experimental Controls projects
    • Thomas will work on everything else
  • Timeline
    • Complete first draft by Friday that can be circulated to management
