Agenda to discuss a strategy to resubmit our KLF proposal for PAC46 in summer of 2018 [Moskov, Justin, Mark, Marouen, Stuart, and Igor while Mikhail is flying to China].

  • Focus on two tasks: double strange cascades and kapa-meson.
  • Generate quasi-data using a full MC and do the PWA to demonstrate impact of the proposed experiment on the world knowledge. That is the PAC45 suggestion. Mikhail, Nick, Kijun, and Taylor may generate quasi-data and Cesar of JPAC will fit them. We will set it up at the beginning of November.
  • New MC for the neutron target... Nick and Mikhail shown that KLn-->K+Sigma- is promising [1]. Using one or two models, Maxim will generate input for Mikhail and Nick. We will set it up on Sept 11th.
  • GlueX Collab meeting is scheduled for Oct 12-14 [2]. Let us propose two KLF presentations by Mikhail as Hyperon Production at KLF and KL Flux Monitoring and by Marouen as Meson Spectroscopy with Neutral Kaon Beam. Justin will coordinate it with Curtis. Now both talks are scheduled for Saturday, Oct 14th.
  • Have a Light Meson Spectroscopy (tentative title) Workshop at the beginning of 2018.
  • Using a detail map of Hall D, show CPS and Be-target design and location. It will require new MC for neutron and gamma background (rad) effects. Bogdan promised to provide a design of CPS in 6 weeks or so. We have to work on the Be-target design. The location of the Be-target is sensitive to the time resolution and muon background. Then Hall D engineers will provide a cost estimation.
  • New Start Counter and LH2/LD2 target. We (Justin, Eric, Chris, and Igor) have to set it up in a month or so. We have to evaluate the effect of neutron and gamma on the start counter electronics.
  • Let us have the next KLF meeting in a month, September 27th, 10 AM.
  • Kijun is leaving JLab soon because he found a permanent job. We really appreciate his help and contribution for our KLF proposal.
