LERF PIPING ARRANGEMENT Location: ted-2504@jlab.org Date: Oct 6, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM GMT -05:00 US/Canada Eastern Organizer: James Henry Attendees: Edward Daly gregory Keith Harding Kevin Jordan

Key points:

  • Transfer line simplified that to K. Dixon inputs
  • While CHL line to LERF is warm valves should be leak checked
  • No 'clean' beam tube work is needed at transfer line end of module pair - no need for clean room
  • Center section (in between the two CMs) assembly was discussed. Beam tube first then cryo piping then shields. Center extension ring & 'big' bellows sequence discussed. May need trolly cart for shifting ring and bellows - these are bulky and heavy...
  • KJs preference is to have "end can" installed in the Test Lab to minimize clean work in the LERF vault and since the CMs are on the pre-cast concrete blocks the work is much more ergonomic - work is being done at waist high rather than near the floor. Eds concern is that the CMs be 'generic' when they arrive at the LERF so either can be the first or second module.
  • We will capture the mid-point clean room/hood in place; move the first module to the cryo connection can, then roll the clean room in place the bring in the second CM.
