Dear Kelly,
Thanks. I'll set up a meeting for next week so we can discuss some of these items. It's probably more effective that email.
Cheers,
Ed

Hi Kelly:
Chris and I discussed about this briefly and had the following questions/comments -
1. Is it possible to obtain marked-up P&Is for each of the modes of operation (cool-down, RF testing, Qo measurement, warm-up) showing which paths will be utilized?
2. Are we expected to transition to 4K for each cryo-module cool-down (or warm-up)? In that case, what is the expected time between cryo-module switch?
3. What is the Cryo-module fast cool-down path? Will it be done when the Linac is at 2K?
4. We will need additional cryo-modules in LERF to keep the STL/RTL flow thermally stable during the testing.
5. Unlike the JLab cryo-modules, there is no phase separator and seems like the JT is a top fill valve. This might generate thermal instability in the RTL (and cold compressor suction) during transients.
6. Considering point 5, it will probably be better if Cryo has access/control of the JT valve during 'normal' operations (similar to the cryo-modules in the Linac where, SRF controls the JT during cool-down and Qo measurements and Cryo has the control during stable 2K operations).
7. I would recommend adding a manual valve (able to handle sub-atm. pressure) downstream of CEVCMXX_CD (primary return to CD header) and have it isolate the CD line once returns are switched to PR header.
Thanks, Nusair

Kelly,
Attached is the latest working copy of our P&ID for testing of the LCLS-II Cryomodules in the LERF, and a link to a .jt file for the geometry.
Your review and comments will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Kelly,
When Jim returns next week, we will provide the latest images from models as well as the P&ID. All designs are in a preliminary state at this time.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi Ed,
Hope that you have some nice plans for the holiday.
Will asked that you send me the design details so that I can review this.
