Attended: Sean, Eugene, Vitaly, Hovanes, Sashi, Richard, Keigo, Mikhail, Alex, Stuart, Moskov, and Igor.
- Announcements
- Igor reported that the PWA groups BnGa (Andrey) is waiting for our contribution for Xi study (Stuart) and JuBoWa (Deborah) for for our contribution for Lambda study (Marshall).
- Mikhail reported about new activity with REKEN (Kenta Itahashi) group to sudy Lamba p --> Lambda p.
-- Simulation of KL flux using PYTHIA by Eugene.
-- Eugene updated the slides:
--1) the W/Cu ratio in the plug was changed to 90/10. With that, about 5% of the plug volume appears to be empty. It would effectively increase the absorption length of the plug material by ~3%.
-- 2) Eugene noticed that the absorption length in pure W is rather 6.8 cm than 7.0 cm I used before. This would decrease the absorption length of the plug.
-- This resulted in no significant change in the absorption length of the plug. It is still 7.8 cm (using the same method). An additional 5cm plug would kill about 50% of KLs. At this time I am not sure what the uncertainty of the evaluated absorption length is. It needs further studies.
-- Vitaly's slides for KL + p --> KL + p reconstruction.
