We will meet on Tuesday October 25 at 11am EST locally in TL-2236 and remotely using the BlueJeans teleconferencing system. If you haven't used BlueJeans before you can simply call in by phone (phone # and meeting ID below) or your computer (URL below). I will initiate the meeting just about 11am, so we'll give everyone ~5 minutes to join. If choosing to connect by computer for the first time I suggest downloading and loading the BlueJeans app. This information and any you would like to share is located on the meeting's wiki page: https://wiki.jlab.org/pwgwiki/index.php/October_25,_2016_-_PWG_topical_leaders_meeting. If you have any questions or difficulties please feel free to contact me (grames@jlab.org or 757-344-0188).

For those calling in we'll use the Blue Jeans [1] audio conference system.

Agenda

Welcome to topical leaders
Discussion of charge and time line
Positron Beam R&D

Minutes

The goal of each sub-group is to single-out a set of golden experiments that would support and motivate the case for a positron beam both at JLab and EIC. This includes experimental data projections for reasonable beam parameters: A and % for fixed target experiments in CW mode, and % for collider experiments, and with % for positron applications. When possible, effort should be put on the identification of specificity of positrons and of polarization for the accomplishment of a physics program. These golden cases will be discussed and presented in priority at the JPos17 Workshop that will most likely happen end of june or september 2017.

Each sub-group should organize as judged most appropriate by their conveners. Scientific activities can take any form (working sessions, larger meeting...) but should be publicized in advance at the pwg@jlab.org mailing list.

The next meeting will be scheduled mid-december. It is expected that each subgroup will be organized by then with a core of contributing persons and a tentative timeline up to JPos17.
