Agenda

  • MARATHON rate estimates by Tyler, Mike, Sheren and Tong
  • Work summery by Dien (slides)
  • R analysis - by Shujie

Attendance

  • Onsite: Buddhini, Tong Su, Sheren, Tyler, Mike, Scott, Dien
  • Phone: Zhihong, Shujie, Rey

Minutes

  • The MARATHON students gave an update about the rate estimates they have been working on. Buddhini had a question about the parameter they used for their estimates (current, target length etc) and how their calculations compare with what Zhihong and John did. The students mentioned that there is no direct connection between their calculations and what John and Zhihong did. This is just a practice calculation Makis and Mina wanted them to do but they will try to compare to see how different the two estimates are.
  • Dien gave an update on the work she is doing on target end cap subtraction.
  • Shujie talked about the R analysis. This is not directly related to x>1 now but it is a nice project she is working on.

  • After the work updates, we had a long discussion about the purpose of the meeting and what is expected of everyone. Some of the questions we had are:
    • Should we have weekly or bi-weekly meetings? Weekly to begin with.
    • Should everyone make lengthy presentations? No. Just few slides to clearly summarize what they have been working on. It does not have to be presentations but some kind of visual aid will help a lot for the discussions.
    • Will the presentations be uploaded onto the wiki? No. We will have a separate directory in the triton workspace to store these talks. ONLY the tritium collaboration will have access to these presentations.
