  • via BlueJeans

Discussion

  • The idea to increase the density of helium gas targets
    • 1. Take out the hydrogen gas target (it is expected to take a few hours)
      2. Cool down the helium gas targets at twelve kelvin for physics runs.
    • The density of the helium gas could be increased by a factor of 3.5 (the thickness of 75 mg/cm2 changes to 260 mg/cm2)
    • Dave will summarize the estimations in the proposal.
→ Toshi will consider to change the beam intensity or beamtime to optimize the experiment.
  • Raster
    • Raster of 2 × 2 mm2 is assumed.
    • It can be 0.5 × 0.5 mm2, but the density reduction effect will be larger.
  • Density reduction during the beam exposure
    • A 40% reduction may be occurred at 50 uA.
    • The density reduction of 50% is assumed in the current proposal.
