Target Meeting (HRS-HKS experiment at JLab Hall A)
- 21:00-21:30 on April 26, 2021 EDT (10:00-10:30 on April 27, 2021 JST)
- Participants: David Meekins (JLab), Toshiyuki Gogami (Kyoto Univ.)
- via BlueJeans
Discussion
- The idea to increase the density of helium gas targets
- 1. Take out the hydrogen gas target (it is expected to take a few hours)
2. Cool down the helium gas targets at twelve kelvin for physics runs. - The density of the helium gas could be increased by a factor of 3.5 (the thickness of 75 mg/cm2 changes to 260 mg/cm2)
- Dave will summarize the estimations in the proposal.
→ Toshi will consider to change the beam intensity or beamtime to optimize the experiment.
- 1. Take out the hydrogen gas target (it is expected to take a few hours)
- Raster
- Raster of 2 × 2 mm2 is assumed.
- It can be 0.5 × 0.5 mm2, but the density reduction effect will be larger.
- Density reduction during the beam exposure
- A 40% reduction may be occurred at 50 uA.
- The density reduction of 50% is assumed in the current proposal.
