AIOP - Polarized Photon Source
Agenda:
- Previous Meeting
- Announcements
- Project Progress
- Data mining/preparation
- GitHub AIOP Project (AIOP-Photon issues)
- Task assignments (FTE Profiles)
- PIER Activities
- Middle School Data Science Hackathon Workshop
- HUGS mini-Workshop
- AOT
Minutes
Attendees: Thomas B., Torri J., Patrick M., Jiawei G., Cristiano F., Malachi S., Armen K.
- Malachi introduced Armen Kasparian from the Data Science Dept. who will be working with us on this project
- Torri, Patrick, and Jiawei met/communicated to coordinate the data preprocessing efforts.
- Data Preprocessing (Patrick)
- Patrick showed some slides.
- Looking at GlueX Phase II (Spring 2023) and CPP (Summer 2022) data
- Both periods used the same 50um diamond
- Extracted data from EPICS archive in 1sec steps
- Dropped steps with missing info
- First attempt to identify some nudge events within data set
- Applied energy map to TAGM and TAGH scalers
- Some question as to what the "amorphous scalers" represented
- Applied standard fit to scaler spectra to identify coherent edge and extract polarization
- David asked if data points were interpolations or actual measurements. Patrick will look into it.
- Data Preprocessing (Jiawei)
- Jiawei showed some slides.
- Looking at Spring 2018, Fall 2018, and Spring 2020 data.
- Able to identify nudge events from pitch/yaw settings in EPICS archive
- Extracted from archive and converted to CSV format
- Included integrated beam current
- Some discussion on how to get beam position on diamond using beam position monitors and goniometer positon
- Ask Hovanes or possibly Richard how to obtain this
Action Items
- Determine if mySampler returns interpolations between data measurements, or the measurements themselves (Patrick)
- Give some visuals indicating 30 seconds is a good amount of time to wait for the beam to ramp up and the coherent edge to stabilize (Patrick)
- Get some information about nudge events: how many, when they happen, etc (Jiawei, Patrick)
- Diagram of tagger microscope and hodoscope (?)
- Send link to amorphous subtraction code for online monitoring (David)
- Find how to get beam position on diamond (Jiawei)
- Place data in central location and document (/group/halld/AIOP/data - Torri, Patrick, Jiawei)
